Martellus Bennett: Aaron Rodgers better than Tom Brady

Martellus Bennett

Martellus Bennett is living a life that is not too shabby. Last year, the tight end earned a Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots playing with future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.

This season, Bennett is in Wisconsin catching footballs from another future Hall of Famer, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After spending some time practicing with Rodgers, Bennett has come to the conclusion that Rodgers is better than Brady.

The 30 year-old tight end referred to Rodgers as “the best one he’s ever played with.”

He shared the following about working with both Brady and Rodgers.

“With playing with Tom, it was a lot of coaching — like little things,” Bennett said, via Max Meyer of NFL.com. “Like the way he wanted you to get your head around quicker because he wants to get the ball out of his hands a little bit faster.”

“And with Aaron, his ball is a little bit different. He’s a little more athletic, and he can whip things a little bit different, you know. So he doesn’t have to set his feet all the way to throw the ball 80 yards or anything like that. But me and him, it’s all the same thing. Like, my body language is totally different for him.”

It is clear Bennett highly respects both Brady and Rodgers professionally. Each quarterback will eventually go down in NFL history as one of the best ever to play the game.

Once training camps start, we will get to see Bennett’s newfound chemistry with Rodgers first-hand. Last season Bennett tallied 55 catches for a total of 701 yards and seven touchdowns in New England.
