The Philadelphia Eagles just signed ex-Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez to a one-year contract. This must be fabulous news for Sanchez, but Nick Foles may be scratching his head on this one. Let’s hope the Eagles stick with the “don’t fix it if it isn’t broken” theory and keep Foles in the starting lineup and
Sanchez on the bench with his important looking clipboard in hand.

Per USA Today, Chip Kelly had these comments:
I’ve said many times that we will always look to add quality players at the quarterback position…We consider it a key position in this game, so having the chance to add Mark to that group was a no-brainer for us.
Mark has started 68 games in his career and has taken his teams deep into the playoffs multiple times, so we really like what he brings to the table from an experience standpoint. I also had the chance to see Mark play in college and have always had respect for his game and athletic ability.
Mark Sanchez and the words “no-brainer” definitely share multiple meanings. Exactly how Sanchez will be used in the Eagles offense remains to be seen. Sanchez is a turnover machine and Foles only had one interception in the 11 games he started for the Eagles last year; there’s your no-brainer.
