Marcus Peters was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Los Angeles Rams — a move that’s not exactly being well received by Chiefs’ fans. As luck would have it, Peters’ new team and his old one will square off in 2018. The matchup is months away, but the cornerback has already started to trash talk former teammate Patrick Mahomes.
Peters went on NFL’s Network to talk about many things, including that matchup. In doing so, he threw a little shade towards his former teammate and Kansas City’s starting quarterback.
“I’m expecting turnovers and I’m expecting a win,” Peters said, as transcribed by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. “He know how to give me the ball. He know how to give me the ball.”
We wouldn’t normally look forward to an interconference game this far away from the regular season. But Peters has certainly added some spice to that matchup.
Mahomes has a big arm. While we didn’t see him much in his rookie season, he was definitely not afraid to take chances in his college days. It will be interesting to see how much he challenges Peters when the regular season matchup does roll around.
