Point guard Justice Hill is one of two LSU players entering the NCAA’s transfer portal after the Tigers’ 14-19 season.

Forward Kendal Coleman also entered his name in the portal on Wednesday.

Hill’s decision is noteworthy because he followed coach Matt McMahon to LSU after he spent the previous two seasons at Murray State. McMahon became the Tigers’ coach after the Racers went 31-3 in 2021-22.

Nicknamed “Juice,” Hill was a first-time All-Ohio Valley Conference selection that season when he averaged 13.4 points and 5.1 assists in 34 games. But he struggled at LSU and averaged 5.6 points and 2.7 assists in 30 games (17 starts).

Hill shot just 29 percent from the field this season. He left the team for three games in January due to personal reasons and started just once after his return as his role diminished.

Coleman played sparingly in 21 games (all off the bench), averaging 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds. He played his first two college seasons at Northwestern State and averaged 11.2 points and 8.3 rebounds before transferring to LSU.

The Tigers got off to a 12-1 start before dropping 18 of their last 20 games to finish last in the Southeastern Conference.
