The Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens are getting ready to play in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon, and thanks to Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Justin Tucker, there’s already some tension between the two teams.
As Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was warming up from one of the goal lines, throwing passes to his receivers more than an hour before kickoff, Justin Tucker, the Baltimore Ravens’ longtime kicker, was stretching nearby, with his helmet and footballs on the grass close to Mahomes.
Video shows Mahomes talking to Tucker, who had his football holder on the ground near Mahomes. ‘And when Tucker turned his back, Mahomes picks it up and tosses it aside.
Then Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end, saw what was going on and took matters into his own hands.
For years, kickers do this as a show of gamesmanship, so it was hardly a coincidence that Tucker was setting up there. Whatever the reason, it didn’t matter to Kelce, the Pro Bowl tight end.
Kelce walked up and threw Tucker’s helmet and footballs in the end zone. He then just walked away, as Tucker watched and smiled.

What Kelce did was likely no surprise to Tucker, who’s arguably the greatest kicker in NFL history. Along with being a Super Bowl champion, he has an all-time best field goal percentage of 90.2 percent, and he’s been selected to seven Pro Bowls and five first-team All-Pro teams in 12 seasons.
Like Tucker, Kelce is also among the best to ever play his position. During his 11 seasons, he’s been to nine Pro Bowls, he’s been on five All-Pro teams, and he’s won two Super Bowls.
