According to Jessica Blaylock of Fox Sports Florida, the Marlins announced they will keep late Jose Fernandez’s locker intact, months after his passing.
Blaylock also added the locker has remained untouched since he passed away in September of last year.
The two-time All-Star and 2013 National League Rookie of the Year was with two friends when they were all killed in a boating accident off Miami Beach.
Following his passing, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria said Fernandez’s No. 16 jersey would be retired by the team. The Marlins will also honor the pitcher with patches sporting “16” on the left side of their jerseys.

Fernandez made a huge impact on the Marlins team, the community and baseball. These dedications, along with a beautiful art piece in Rio de Janeiro, are tokens to a baseball player who had so much passion and touched so many lives.Â
