Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham suffered a concussion in their season-opening win against the San Diego Chargers on Monday night. According to reports, this latest concussion has forced the former Pro Bowler to step away from the team.
After suffering another concussion Monday night, Cardinals LB John Abraham has left the team, quite possibly for good, per sources.

In some rather disturbing details, Schefter is reporting that Abraham is suffering from memory loss and has been for “well over a year.”

This is likely the end of 15-plus year career that has seen Abraham record 133.5 sacks. It’s also yet another reality check as it relates to the long-term impact that playing in the NFL has on players.
Our thoughts go out to Abraham at this point. Hopefully he is able to live a healthy and productive life after being beat up for so long in the National Football League.
