Evan Neal’s season is over as the New York Giants placed the offensive tackle on injured reserve Sunday.
Neal (ankle) has not played since a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 5. He appeared in just seven games (all starts) in his second year in the league.
Neal, 23, was the seventh overall pick in the 2022 draft by New York. The Alabama product has started 20 games for the Giants at right tackle in his two seasons.
New York filled the roster opennig by activating offensive tackle Matt Peart from injured reserve. He injured a shoulder in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.
The Giants also added backup wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins (illness) to their injury report for Monday’s game at the Philadelphia Eagles.
New York also elevated kicker Mason Crosby and outside linebacker Tomon Fox from the practice squad. The Giants signed Crosby on Friday after the team placed Cade York (quad) on injured reserve.
