The Charlotte Hornets received some pleasant news when Gerald Henderson told the team he’d be sticking around for at least one more season.

Henderson, who has played for Charlotte since the organization drafted him 12th overall in 2009, is due $6 million next year, per HoopsHype.
The 27-year-old appeared in a team-high 80 games last season, averaging 28.9 minutes, 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Henderson shot 43.7 percent from the field and a career-best 84.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Charlotte recently shipped Lance Stephenson to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes, so Henderson should receive a slight boost to his playing time.
His best moment of the 2014-15 season was converting a game-winning layup to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 92-91 on April 4.
Henderson will again join Kemba Walker, Al Jefferson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist on the court, hoping to provide the organization with only its third postseason bid in the last 12 years.
