Chicago Fire defender Carlos Teran is expected to be out for four to six weeks following knee surgery for a torn right meniscus.
The team’s announcement on Wednesday did not provide any details about when the injury occurred.
The Fire currently are preparing for the 2024 MLS season at their training camp in Bradenton, Fla.
Teran, 23, has recorded three goals in 61 matches (48 starts) since making his Fire debut in 2020.
Chicago opens the regular season on the road against the Philadelphia Union on Feb. 24 in Chester, Pa.
