Kansas transfer Bobby Pettiford Jr. announced Monday that he will continue his college career at East Carolina.
The decision brings Pettiford home to North Carolina. He was a high school star at South Granville High in Creedmoor, about 100 miles west of the East Carolina campus in Greenville.

Pettiford chose the Pirates over Georgetown and Florida State.
Pettiford played in 46 games off the bench for Kansas over the past two seasons and averaged 2.0 points, 1.2 assists and 1.1 rebounds. He played in 32 games this season, averaging 2.2 points, 1.3 assists and 1.2 rebounds.
Pettiford played in 14 games off the bench in 2021-22 when the Jayhawks won the national championship. He missed the NCAA Tournament after having season-ending abdominal surgery in February.
