The Liberty Flames don’t face the same level of competition as other foes on this list, as they play in the Conference USA, but their success is impressive nonetheless. Liberty averages 40.1 PPG while ranking fifth in total yards at 498.5 per game. QB Kaidon Salter has scored 40 touchdowns, using his dual-threat ability to keep defenses off-guard, and he’s making smart decisions, too, with just five interceptions thrown all season. Overall, Liberty has dominated its opponents and still remains undefeated on the season.

Before his injury, Jordan Travis was starring at QB, which means the Florida State Seminoles once again had one of college football’s best offenses. Travis had thrown just two interceptions this season yet has produced 27 touchdowns. No wonder the Seminoles score 38.8 points per game, but it probably helps to have two future NFL receivers in Keon Coleman and a 6-foot-7 Johnny Wilson. Yet, without Travis available, now we’ll see what junior QB Tate Rodemaker can do.

There isn’t a team that averages fewer penalties per game than Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines at 2.9 per game. They also rank in the top ten in ball protection, turning the ball over an average of just 0.6 times per game. QB J.J. McCarthy embodies what this team is all about by playing smart and keeping the ball out of harm’s way. With Blake Corum back to scoring touchdowns at league-leading rate, Michigan’s offense is one of the best in college football.

Future first-round pick Drake Maye has a big hand in why the North Carolina Tar Heels have one of college football’s best scoring offenses this season. But he’s not the only reason why. The Tar Heels also rank 17th in the nation, averaging 197.1 rushing yards per game. Running back Omarion Hampton is among college football’s rushing leaders, and Maye spreads the ball around through the air, where six different receivers have 275 or more yards this season.
With Michael Penix Jr. leading one of college football’s best passing offenses, it’s no surprise to see the Washington Huskies high on this list. The Huskies average 345.5 passing yards per game, but they also score the 11th-most points in the nation (38 PPG). Washington could certainly improve on the ground, as they land 105th in rushing yards entering Week 14, but a robust passing offense lands them eighth in offensive yards per game. Receivers Rome Odunze and Ja’lynn Polk are both weapons through the air, and running back Dillon Johnson gives the Huskies a big back capable of picking up tough yardage at the goal line.

Usually, when discussing the Georgia Bulldogs, most speak about how scary their defense is. But junior QB Carson Beck has the Bulldogs scoring 39.6 points per game. Brock Bowers gives Georgia one of the best offensive players in college football, and this has been a disciplined team that averages just 4.3 penalties per game, which helps keep the chains moving.

Leading the nation’s fifth-highest-powered scoring attack, the USC Trojans deserve to be ranked among the nation’s best offenses. Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams is the biggest reason why. He ranks fourth in college football with 41 touchdowns, as teams have a difficult time defending his receivers while also chasing the USC QB all over the field. Running backs Marshawn Lloyd and Austin Jones both average north of 5.6 yards per carry, meaning the Trojans are potent no matter how they choose to attack.

The Oklahoma Sooners don’t have the best rushing offense or the best passing offense, but they have no trouble scoring points (43.2 PPG). QB Dillon Gabriel is leading one of the most efficient air attacks in the nation, completing 69.6 percent of his passes while also presenting another challenge by being able to move the chains with his legs. On the ground, the Sooners have four different players with 300 or more rushing yards and seven different ball carriers who have reached paydirt.

While LSU may have college football’s best offense, the Oregon Ducks aren’t far behind. Entering Week 14, the Ducks have college football’s second-highest-scoring offense, averaging 45.3 points per game. Coach Dan Lanning’s team hasn’t scored fewer than 33 points all season and has scored as many as 81 in one game. When running, only two teams average more yards per carry than the Ducks at 5.8 YPA. Yet, Oregon also averages 351.4 passing yards per game, ranking first in the nation. Overall, they average the second-most offensive yards in college football at 540.3 per game. With Bo Nix back in the Heisman conversation at QB, along with Bucky Irving and Jordan James providing a 1-2 punch in the backfield, if Oregon’s on the schedule, you better bring your A-game.

The LSU Tigers have the best offense in college football in 2023. LSU gains more yards than any other team entering Week 14 (547.8 YPG), they also rank first in points per game (46.4), and no team scores more passing touchdowns than the Tigers (3.4 per game). They also average the fourth-most passing yards per game (334.3) and the most yards per carry on the ground (6.3 YPA). Their rushing attack features a dual-headed monster, with transfer running back Logan Diggs having a career season, along with QB Jayden Daniels presenting another elusive threat. Through the air, receiver Malik Nabers is a speed threat, competing for the nation’s lead among receiving yards, and the 6-foot-5 Brian Thomas is an excellent complementary piece in the red zone, as the nation’s receiving touchdown leader, with Nabers not far behind. Being efficient while being able to score through the air or on the ground, LSU has college football’s best offense this season.
