NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley is getting ready to part ways with some of his most valuable memorabilia as a way to fund affordable housing in his hometown of Leeds, Alabama.
He shared that he’ll be auctioning off his 1993 MVP trophy, one of his gold medals, and a flag signed by every Dream Team member, among other things during an interview with WJOX 94.5 FM, to raise money for the project.
That’s just a tremendous act of generosity by Sir Charles, who has a history of giving back to communities in need. Recently, he donated $2 million to a couple historically black colleges — $1 million to Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama, and another $1 million to Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta.
