Carolina Panthers’ star quarterback Cam Newton is already making millions as a professional NFL player.
However, Newton has promised his mother that he would return to Auburn to finish his education. Plans that he hopes come to a culmination with a degree this spring.
At 6’6″, Newton can hardly just jump in line at the college bookstore or sit next to you in class and go unnoticed. As we can imagine, Newton’s return to Auburn—the college that he won a national championship with in 2010—has caused quite a stir.
Who doesn’t want a photo with their new college bestie?
You know, just Cam Newton. No big deal. #WarEagle pic.twitter.com/8RKGgzpuxP

The only thing keeping me going this semester is that I might see Cam Newton on campus.

What’s better than a grilled cheese from the food truck?

Let’s hope with all the distractions, Newton can actually get to the task at hand and earn that degree he has promised mom. With that said, this is a great story. Whenever a professional athlete fulfills a promise and returns to school, we have to give him/her props.
Good for you, Cam.
