Bruce Arians refutes report that Jameis Winston will return to Buccaneers in 2020

Before Saturday’s loss, a report indicated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing Jameis Winston back in 2020. After the game Bruce Arians disputed that.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the Bucs will bring Winston back and are going to use a variation of the franchise tag to do it.

When asked about whether the report was true, Arians said, “no decision has been made on any player.”

This response, of course, came on the heels of Winston throwing four interceptions — including a pick-six on his first attempt, and the game-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter – as the Bucs lost 23-20 in a very winnable game.

On the season, Winston has now tossed 31 touchdowns (second in the league) and 28 interceptions (leading the league). The turnover problem is something that’s plagued him since his Florida State days and appears to be a permanent issue.

He’s an enigma wrapped in a conundrum, and the Bucs have a huge decision to make about his future.
