Attempting to bolster what was an already decent bullpen last season, the Los Angeles Angels have acquired veteran closer Jim Johnson from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for minor league pitcher Justin Kelly.

Johnson, a former All-Star, pitched to a 3.06 ERA and 1.19 WHIP en route to saving 20 games for the Braves last season. He figures to at least be in the mix for the Angels’ closer job this upcoming season.
Heading to the Braves is a 24-year-old hurler in Justin Kelly who has split time between being a starter and reliever at the low minor league level since being selected in the 33rd round back in 2016.
