Ranked 11th in the Welterweight division heading into Saturday’s bout with Randy Brown, it sure looks like Vicente Luque wanted to make a statement in Vegas.
After a close first five-plus minutes of the bout, Luque caught Brown with a devastating combination that included a right knee to the face and three brutal right hooks before the ref in the Octagon called the fight. It was something else.
The Brazilian ended this one in short order. It’s probably a good thing for Brown that the referee stopped the fight, too.
The Silent Assassin has now won two consecutive fights since a UFC 244 loss to Stephen Thompson. He’s now surely on the radar of the powers to be.
