We saw it earlier during MLB Opening Night in D.C. Members of the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals taking a knee ahead of the national anthem to protest racial inequality and police brutality in the United States.
This trend continued ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the San Francisco Giants in Southern California. The two teams took to the field as one to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
As the national anthem started, newly-extended Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts joined several San Francisco Giants players in continuing to take a knee.
This is obviously going to be a continuing trend around the baseball world as the 2020 season continues. The league continues to make it clear that it supports the ongoing protests and fight for racial equality.
That became evident as the Giants and Dodgers were nearing first pitch.
