There is always an air of excitement in a city when an NFL team arrives. It’s especially true in Las Vegas, where a population starved for football is already buzzing for the arrival of the Las Vegas Raiders.
While Allegiant Stadium is still a few months away from being completed and it will be even longer before fans can enter, the Raiders have reportedly already sold out all their home games for the 2020 season.
According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, the Raiders sold every ticket for their home games this season. Fans not only scooped up all the season tickets, but individual game tickets for the upcoming season were all sold.
The frenzy to attend Raiders’ home games comes at a time when there is still uncertainty for the NFL season starting on schedule with fans in attendance. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with multiple stadium workers testing positive for the coronavirus, there are fears that NFL teams will need to play in empty stadiums to begin the 2020 season.
Fortunately for the fans who purchased their tickets, the NFL made sure everyone is covered. So, even if the Raiders’ home opener in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints is canceled, fans will be allowed to get refunds for the game or get a ticket to another contest.
It’s wonderful to see the excitement the Las Vegas community already has for the Raiders. It might not be long before the Raiders have one of the best stadium atmospheres in the NFL with a beautiful stadium routinely filled out with a community ready to embrace their new team.
