The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will have a familiar face under center in 2020, as quarterback Ian Book announced his return to the program with a simple social media post.
Sharing a picture with the hashtag #BeatNavy and a caption that included “See you in 2020,” Book made it clear he’s got unfinished business with the Fighting Irish.
From an NFL draft perspective, this is absolutely a smart business decision for Book, who appeared to take a slight step back in his development in 2019. If he can improve his stock this coming season at Notre Dame, he’ll have a much better chance to be an early draft pick in 2021.
It’s also great news for Brian Kelly and the Irish, as they’ll have a proven starter at the most important position on the field heading into the 2020 season.
This past season, the second-year starter completed just 60.8% of his passes for 3,034 yards with 34 touchdowns and six interceptions.
