WATCH: Yankees fans lose it after Didi Gregorius’ near go-ahead HR

The New York Yankees did not have it early in Game 3 of the ALCS against dominating Houston Astros starter Gerrit Cole.

Following solo blasts from Jose Altuve and Josh Reddick early in the game, New York found itself down 2-0.

That’s when Didi Gregorius took to the plate with two on and two out in the bottom of the fifth. It looked like he had finally solved Cole, leading to a three-run homer and a series-altering hit.

It was not to be.

As you can tell, most of those on hand at Yankee Stadium thought this was going to clear the right-field fence. Once it didn’t, fans of the Bronx Bombers absolutely lost their minds.

Most baseball fans outside of Houston know what they’re going through. That was as close to a homer as one could get.

Instead of taking a 3-2 lead, New York found itself still down 2-0 heading into the sixth. Ouch!
