WATCH: Nationals Howie Kendrick with go-ahead HR in Game 7 of the World Series

The Washington Nationals found themselves down 2-0 in the top of the seventh inning against the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series Wednesday night.

Astros starter Zack Greinke was dominating through six-plus innings. That’s until Anthony Rendon took him deep for a homer to open Washington’s scoring.

After a walk to Juan Soto, Astros manager A.J. Hinch went to ace reliever Will Harris to replace Greinke. Like clockwork, playoff hero and 36-year-old veteran Howie Kendrick took Harris deep off the right-field foul pole to give Washington an improbable 3-2 lead.

That’s absolutely clutch from a player in Kendrick who knows all too well what it takes to be a hero in October.

Absolutely amazing stuff from a Nationals team that simply won’t go away.
