Reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard made his long-anticipated Los Angeles Clippers preseason debut Thursday against the Denver Nuggets.
Leonard opened the game with a rather ho-hum two from the baseline. Almost immediately after that, he hit a step-back three-pointer on his first attempt from beyond the line.
Despite this being a mere preseason game, the Clippers’ bench lost its mind after Leonard nailed the shot.
To be clear, the Clippers and their fans have not had a whole lot to root for throughout their history.
Adding Leonard and Paul George makes this team legitimate title contenders. The excitement is real in Southern California. That was on full display early during Thursday’s otherwise meaningless game.
