The Washington Nationals are looking to upgrade their pitching staff heading into the stretch run.
They might have done just that on trade deadline day, reportedly acquiring veteran pitcher Daniel Hudson from the Toronto Blue Jays.
A former starter, Hudson has excelled in relief over the past five years. This season alone, the 32-year-old veteran is pitching to a 3.00 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 45 games. It’s Hudson’s best performance since all the way back in 2010.
Currently holding the top wild card spot in the National League, Washington needed to add more arms. Hudson brings stability to the mid innings.
