Patriots reportedly ‘livid’ former team chaplain, character coach left for job with Texans

There is another layer to the growing feud between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans, as the Pats are reportedly “livid” about a recent departure.

Jack Easterby, who started out as the Patriots team chaplain, had taken on various roles within the organization the past six years and was the Team Development Director/Character Coach last year.

Then, Easterby left the organization for a better job in Houston as the new executive vice president of team development.

Greg Bedard of Boston Sports Journal wrote that sources within the organization told him the Patriots are “livid” that Easterby bolted for Houston, with one source saying the coach’s departure “totally pissed them off.”

Of course, since all that transpired, the Patriots have filed tampering charges against the Texans over their pursuit of Patriots executive Nick Caserio. Those charges are no longer being pursued now that the Texans have called off their pursuit.

Now we know what may have been behind all that.
