Sebastian Telfair was once the toast of the New York City basketball scene. A high school star, the Brooklyn native found himself as a top-15 pick of the Portland Trail Blazers back in 2004.
15 years later, and it looks like Telfair could be spending some hard time in prison. The 33-year-old man was convicted on Wednesday of possessing a firearm and could face 15 years in prison.
“Telfair pled not guilty and fought the charges, but was found guilty by a jury in NYC on Wednesday of felony criminal possession of a weapon,” TMZ Sports reported.
Telfair had previously been arrested after a traffic stop in Brooklyn back in 2017. At that time, authories said they found three guns, including a semi-automatic weapon. Telfair was also spotted with a bullet-proof vest and a ton of ammo.
The former NBA point guard played 12 seasons in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
