Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins was involved in a car crash Friday morning about one mile from the team’s facility in Owings Mills, Maryland.
According to Baltimore County police spokeswoman Jennifer Peach, Collins crashed into a tree at approximately 6:48 in the morning. Collins, 24, was then immediately arrested once authorities arrive on to the scene, per The Baltimore Sun.
Charges against Collins are not yet known. Though, Ravens VP David Steele did release a statement, indicating that the “team has spoken with police and is aware of the situation.”
After a breakout season with the Ravens back in 2017, Collins struggled with consistency and injury this past year.
He put up just 411 yards in 10 games (all starts) while averaging 3.6 yards per attempt before suffering a season-ending injury in December. The previous season saw Collins rack up nearly 1,200 total yards.
Collins is slated to become a restricted free agent later this month. It’s not yet known what Friday’s incident might mean for his free agency.
