Jets officially announce Le’Veon Bell: ‘We did it’

The I’s have been dotted and the T’s have been crossed. Le’Veon Bell is now officially a member of the New York Jets.

The club made it official on Thursday, taking to Twitter to say, “We did it.”

There are no surprises here. This move was reported on late Tuesday night. But given what the Jets went through with Anthony Barr, we can bet that the team and its fans are quite happy to see this move be official.

Bell, of course, sat out for the entirety of the 2018 season. He last played in 2017 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That season, he ran for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns on 321 carries. Bell added 85 catches for 655 yards with two more scores as a receiver.

In 2018, the Jets were 29th in total yards, 26th in rushing yards, and 25th in receiving yards. So, if Bell, who’s now 27, is even a shell of his former self, he should help vastly improve New York’s offense.
