What an emotional win. Alabama, down by a touchdown in the fourth quarter, saw Tua Tagovailoa leave the game for good after suffering a brutal-looking ankle injury.
In his stead, former starter Jalen Hurts led a remarkable comeback to lead the Crimson Tide to a 35-28 win to retain the No. 1 seed and win the SEC Championship Game.
Afterward during the post-game interview on the field, head coach Nick Saban was uncharacteristically emotional and actually shed a few tears.
“I’m so proud of this guy for what he’s done this year, I can’t even tell you.”

It’s easy to understand why he’d be so overcome with emotion.
He’s been behind Hurts the entire way, even after benching his veteran quarterback in favor of Tagovailoa. Then, to see Hurts come through with the clutch performance in the biggest game of the year…it really doesn’t get more stirring than that.
