Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been one of the best at protecting the football this season. His historic streak without an interception came to an ugly end on Friday against Kansas.
As the Longhorns led 7-0 and neared the red zone, Ehlinger got caught staring down wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey and was picked off for the first time since the season-opening loss to Maryland.

Ehlinger extended his streak without an interception to a Big-12 record 308 pass attempts before his 309th pass attempt found itself in the arms of defensive end Najee Stevens-McKenzie.
Losing the streak is bad enough, to see it snapped on a horrific throw of this caliber just as his team neared the red zone adds insult to injury. The Longhorns will need Ehlinger to start a new streak in order to avoid an upset against the Jayhawks.
