An interesting dynamic is playing out with the New York Mets as the team prepares for the hot stove season.
With new general manager and former MLB agent Brodie Van Wagenen calling the shots, we promise to see a change of philosophy within the front office. That could very well include trading ace starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard.
According to this report from Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, the Mets are seriously considering trading the former All-Star pitcher. Not only that, at least a half-dozen teams appear to be real players for the 26-year-old hurler.

Having started 32 games over the past two seasons, Syndergaard is certainly an injury risk. But when he’s on the mound, he’s been among the best starters in the game. Last season alone, the righty pitched to a 13-4 record with a 3.03 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 25 starts.
New York was 16-9 in his 25 starts and 15 games under .500 when he didn’t take to the bump.
It’s not surprising that there’s a ton of interest in the pitcher’s services. He’s under team control through three more arbitration years before hitting free agency in 2022. That makes Syndergaard a highly sought after option on the trade block.
