Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson declares for the 2019 NFL Draft

Injury-plagued Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson took to Twitter on Thursday to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.

This comes less than two months after Anderson suffered a season-ending knee injury against the UCLA Bruins.

It’s the third time that Anderson has been lost for the season to injury during his time in Norman. Back in 2015, the talented running back suffered a broken leg two games into the season. The following spring saw him suffer a fractured vertebra in his neck, forcing him out of action for the entire 2016 campaign.

When on the field, Anderson has proven to be a dynamic threat out of the backfield. He put up 1,442 total yards and 18 touchdowns while averaging a robust 6.2 yards per run last season. In fact, Anderson led the FBS in total yards through the final seven games of the season.

A preseason All-Big 12 selection, Anderson will have to prove he’s healthy before any NFL team can consider taking him early in the 2019 NFL Draft.
