The NFL handed down a stiff $112,000 fine to Vontaze Burfict after he was caught with “multiple” instances of unnecessary roughness (like this) last weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ian Rapoport noted on Sunday morning that the league informed Burfict he will be suspended in the event of another similar action going forward.
More coming on this topic for @NFLGameDay, but #Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict was informed via letter that the next similar action to his fined offenses from last week will warrant a suspension, sources say. Burfict was fined $112K this week for 2 hits.

The Cincinnati Bengals linebacker has an extensive history of dirty play and has been fined an ungodly amount of money throughout his career for it.
After Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh, a Steelers offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert made a point of saying Burfict should have been suspended for his egregiously dirty hits in that contest. Given his history, it’s hard to disagree with that notion.
If he does go after another player in the manner we saw last Sunday, the NFL’s ban should be extensive.
