Report: Vikings Pro Bowler Everson Griffen rejoining team Wednesday

Minnesota Vikings sign Everson Griffen

After missing the past five games following multiple off-field incidents, three-time Pro Bowler Everson Griffen is set to rejoin the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday.

Griffen, 30, allegedly threatened to shoot an unnamed person at a Minneapolis hotel late last month. Later that evening, he was arrested attempting to break into a teammates house. Following the incidents, the Vikings indicated they were concerned over Griffen’s mental well-being.

It now appears that Griffen has his house in order off the field and is ready to help the Vikings through the final nine games of the 2018 season.

On the field, this could be some pretty big news for Minnesota. Griffen entered the 2018 campaign having recorded a combined 43.5 sacks over the past four seasons, earning three Pro Bowl appearances in the process.

With Griffin sidelined this season, the Vikings have recorded 21 sacks through seven games. His presence will only help a dominating pass rush improve as the season progresses.
