Rashaan Melvin was benched by Jon Gruden ahead of the Oakland Raiders’ Week 6 game in London against the Seattle Seahawks.
That decision ended up backfiring in a big way as Russell Wilson and Co. had a field day against the dilapidated Raiders defense.
On Monday, Melvin took to Twitter to seemingly express his frustration with how things have gone in Oakland.
I’m done trying to change my style. It’s not me. Back to what I know and what got me here!! ✌🏾😤😤 #22

During Gruden’s press conference on Tuesday, he addressed this by throwing a mountain of shade on his player.
Gruden was aware of Rashaan Melvin's tweet/unhappiness: "Melvin is on his seventh team. Maybe he is confused about what technique he is using. He is frustrated. I can't blame him … He is a good kid." #Raiders

My goodness.
Whatever you think about the job Gruden is doing at the helm of Oakland’s organization, he hasn’t lost his ability to absolutely bury a guy he’s not happy with.
For what it’s worth, Gruden also fired back at the notion that the Raiders are tanking this year, among other things, as his fiery nature cropped up in a big way during Tuesday’s presser.
One wonders how Gruden’s tough-guy act is playing in the locker room as his team flounders with a 1-5 record to open the season.
