Lane Kiffin and his FAU Owls got off to a horrible start to the 2018 season against the Oklahoma Sooners. It started with an unconscionable delay-of-game penalty on the first play of the season and spiraled down from there.
The Owls went into halftime down 42-0, and it wasn’t until late in the third quarter that they finally put points on the scoreboard. By this point, the game was already over for all intents and purposes, with the Sooners owning a 56-7 lead.
Fans watching from home were merciless in their mocking praise once the Owls finally did score, as this was billed as a much more competitive game.

Other fans were more focused on just how pitiful a performance this was by the Owls against the Sooners.
@Lane_Kiffin @FAU_Football – "Bama of Florida". Nope. Not after that performance in OU. Maybe more tackling coaching and less tweeting. @ESPNU

This is the worst beating Lane Kiffin has suffered since the last time on the Alabama sidelines getting chewed out by Nick Saban. pic.twitter.com/PRcK0kHGB2

We can all agree this wasn’t the start Lane Kiffin and his team needed.
