On Thursday night, Cleveland Browns fans experienced a series of negative emotions on a single play.
Baker Mayfield, the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, made an awful throw that was picked off by Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox. Criticism over the poor throw quickly turned to concern when Mayfield moved slowly off the field after getting hit.

Mayfield was taken into the trainers tent then replaced in the game by quarterback Drew Stanton. It provided a moment of immense concern for an organization and fan base that desperately wants to see its young quarterback thrive.
Fortunately, it appears Mayfield may have avoided a major injury. The rookie quarterback was later seen standing on the sideline with his gear still on and spending time with teammates.
Now fans will just hope for good news to confirm the rookie will be ready to go for the team’s final preseason game next week.
