On Wednesday, Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer was suspended three games for his failures concerning disgraced former assistant Zach Smith.
He also raised a lot of eyebrows and drew plenty of righteous criticism for pretty much apologizing to everyone but Courtney Smith for his failures concerning her ex-husband.
On Friday, Meyer released a statement on Twitter, finally apologizing to Smith, writing, “Let me say here and now what I should have said on Wednesday: I sincerely apologize to Courtney Smith and her children for what they have gone through.”
He also said he didn’t show “how seriously I take relationship violence.”

Meyer isn’t exactly apologizing personally, however.
In reality, what his words mean is he’s sorry they’ve been through a tough time, not that he’s sorry he contributed to that.
