Carolina Panthers left tackle Matt Kalil has been dealing with a knee injury since training camp. On Tuesday, he’ll visit Dr. James Andrews.
#Panthers LT Matt Kalil will be examined tomorrow by renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews, sources tell @RapSheet and me, as he seeks answers for a sore knee that has bothered him during camp. Andrews scoped both of Kalil’s knees in 2015.

While it could amount to nothing, this is potentially quite troubling. If Kalil is forced to have surgery and miss time, the depth of the Carolina offensive line will be severely tested. Given that this isn’t exactly a strong unit — even when healthy — that could spell a lot of trouble for Cam Newton and company.
Kalil started all 16 games for the Panthers in 2017, his first season in Carolina. While injuries limited Kalil to only two games in 2016, he’s otherwise never missed a game since breaking into the NFL in 2012.
His health will certainly be something that the Panthers and their fans should keep a close eye on through the remainder of preseason.
