After departing Thursday’s preseason game, Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward has been ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a back injury.

Ward, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, went down early in the first quarter after his body was bent backward awkwardly.
The 21-year-old cornerback remained on the ground for some time before trainers walked with him off the field and to the locker room.
At the very least, it’s likely Ward has played his last snap of the preseason. Now the Browns must hope he avoided a major injury that could keep his absence extended into the regular season.
