In the midst of a playoff race in the National League, this is the last thing the Milwaukee Brewers needed. According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, starting pitcher Brent Suter has a torn UCL and will likely need Tommy John Surgery.

If Suter ultimately needs surgery, it will shelve him for the remainder of the 2018 campaign and pretty much all of next season, as well.
The 28-year-old starter was pitching to an 8-7 record with a 4.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 20 appearances (18 starts) prior to suffering the injury.
At 56-45 heading into Monday’s action, this injury could very well force the Brewers to trade for a starting pitcher prior to the non-waiver deadline a week from Tuesday.
After all, Suter was tied for the team lead in wins with Jhoulys Chacín prior to suffering said injury Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
