Down by a run in the eighth inning, the Toronto Blue Jays had New York Yankees pitcher David Robertson on the ropes. Yankees skipper Aaron Boone made a decision he likely regrets now, intentionally walking Josh Donaldson to load the bases, only to see Justin Smoak take Robertson yard for a grand slam.

Smoak drove the ball to the deepest part of the ballpark, putting the Blue Jays up 7-4, within reach of tying the series at two games apiece. So, this was a huge early-season moment for Smoak and the Jays.
The Twitter reactions to this were pretty fun, too, with plenty of people blaming Boone for making a big mistake.

Aaron Bonne doesn't bring the heat. Why he didn't change Chapman for Smoak. He is a left hitter for God sake pic.twitter.com/d3W1EC9Ogi

Yeah – that wasn't all D-Robs fault. You gotta take the righty on righty matchup if you're choosing between Donaldson and Smoak.
