This could very well be a case of emotions taking over following a brutal Super Bowl loss. It could also be a case of All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski realizing that the physical nature of the NFL has taken its toll on him.
In any event, Gronkowski took to the podium in Minnesota Sunday night following New England’s 41-33 loss to Philadelphia and refused to commit to playing next season.
Rob Gronkowski said he was going to reflect on his future when asked if he’s considering retiring.

I’m “going to sit down in the next couple weeks and see we’re I’m at,” Gronkowski said when asked about rumors of his retirement.
Remember, the veteran tight end is coming off suffering a concussion in the AFC Championship Game. Injuries have to be on his mind here. It also wouldn’t be a stretch to say that emotions got the best of him.
This is definitely a story to follow as the Patriots look to rebound from Sunday’s brutal loss to Philadelphia.
