As you might remember, Bennett and the Packers had a nasty divorce last season after the tight end accused the team of lying about an injury that Green Bay said he did not disclose. That injury was the team’s reason for releasing Bennett, and there was plenty of back-and-forth between the tight end and his former teammates about the entire incident afterward.
Not long after he was released by Green Bay, Bennett signed with the New England Patriots, the team that he played for in 2016. Bennett did play in two games for the Patriots, catching six passes for 53 yards. However, he ultimately was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
