Some pretty serious news broke around the NFL world on Thursday regarding Baltimore Ravens 2017 first-round pick Marlon Humphrey, who was arrested on robbery charges in his native Alabama earlier this month.
Humphrey is accused of stealing a $15 cell phone charger from an Uber driver a week ago this past Saturday. He was booked on felony third-degree robbery charges — a pretty darn serious criminal charge.
Following this news, Humphrey and the Ravens released a statement indicating that the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

We would definitely hope so.
Though, this doesn’t change the fact that Humphrey was still arrested and is facing felony charges. It does set up a defense should the legal process lead to a criminal hearing.
Humphrey, who played three seasons at Alabama, was the 16th overall pick of the Ravens last year. As a rookie, he recorded 34 tackles, 11 passes defended and two interceptions in 16 games (five starts).
