The specific injury is not yet known, but this is disastrous news for the struggling Cavaliers. Â Love is in the midst of his most productive season with the team, averaging 18.2 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting at a 40 percent mark from three-point range.
Cleveland entered Tuesday’s action with a 29-19 record and as the third seed back east. It has also lost 10 of the past 15 games.
Love’s injury and estimated timeline for return will likely expedite any trade talks the Cavaliers have going on right now. The NBA’s trade deadline is coming up here in about a week, and Cleveland is expected to be active.
