Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles looks to be the team’s signal caller for the foreseeable future, according to owner Shad Khan. Though, Khan sure has an interesting take on the team committing to Bortles and picking up his fifth-year option.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan makes it clear Blake Bortles is team's QB of now & future: "Maybe we're not the biggest idiot on the football block. When his option was picked up, it was like, 'What are these guys smoking?'"

This is a pretty hilarious comment. And one that comes on the brink of the Jaguars playing in the postseason for the first time since 2007. Bortles contributed at an adequate enough level to help advance his team to a 10-6 record and a first-place finish this season.
The team picked up Bortles’ fifth-year option this past spring. During the 2017 regular season, Bortles completed 60.2 percent of his passes for 3,687 yards with 21 touchdowns. He also added 322 rushing yards and two rushing scores to his total.
The former first-round pick has continued to be chastised for his mistake-prone tendencies. It led to this one teammate coming to his defense in a big way just recently.
Bortles and his Jaguars can shut skeptics up with a deep run in the playoffs. It starts this upcoming weekend against Buffalo.
