One of the reasons many people who evaluate NFL talent have been intrigued by Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen is that he’s very athletic.
Going up against New Mexico Saturday night, the junior gunslinger showed off this athleticism, and a flair for the dramatic, with a crazy scramble. Avoiding multiple would-be sacks, he ran almost 20 yards backwards and probably almost 100 yard total just to gain eight yards.

This was definitely one of those moments when he coaches were yelling, “No! No! No! … OH YEAH!” on the sidelines.
It’s been a rough year for the Cowboys and for and Allen, who’s struggled badly against top competition. But when you see him pull off plays like this (and this) it makes you wonder if maybe there’s something to the hype he received before the season began.
