It stands to reason that the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers might be tied at the hip when it comes to potential trades around the NFL.
Newly extended Broncos general manager John Elway has a decades long relationship with first-year 49ers GM John Lynch. Both spent parts of their careers (at different times) with both the Stanford Cardinal and Denver Broncos. They are also among the most-respected football minds in the business.
With San Francisco and Denver taking part in joint practices leading up to their preseason game this weekend, apparently Elway and Lynch have been talking trade.
GMs John Lynch and John Elway have spoken about which players might be available in trades. Lynch offered no specifics, of course.

As Maiocco notes, there aren’t necessarily any specifics involved here.
Though, both teams are in the midst of a summer in which training camp battles are the name of the game. For the Broncos, it’s all about finding the right guy to take snaps under center. Heck, Denver still has no idea how its running back situation is going to play out.
Pure conjecture here, but 49ers running back Carlos Hyde could be one of the guys the two teams are talking about. Hyde is a free agent following the season and has been the subject of rumors suggesting he might not fit new head coach Kyle Shanahan’s system.
San Francisco also has a plethora of young running backs who have impressed the brass, including rookie Joe Williams.
