In a flip of the old phrase, this added injury to insult for Lester.
Lester finished the game with nine runs allowed (though only seven were earned), seven hits, and one walk in 1.2 innings. All nine of Cincinnati’s runs came in the second inning.
The Cubs announced that Lester was experiencing left lat tightness.
